STEAM AND CONDENSATE SURVEYS
- Do your employees and operators complain of “wet” steam or “cold” steam?
- Does your steam piping experience the loud clanging and banging of steam / water hammer?
- Are your steam line hangers, supports, anchors and insulation continually experiencing damage?
- Is your steam using equipment experiencing lackluster performance and decreased production?
Mr. Smith, a DOE steam system specialist, in conjunction with our highly trained and experienced associates, do complete steam and condensate system surveys. Unlike others, we do not simply do a steam trap survey.
We start at the boilers and walk down the entire system including steam piping, steam traps, equipment connections, and condensate piping and auxiliaries.
As far as physically feasible, we run a “level circuit” to determine steam line elevation and slope, and to determine if there are low areas and piping configurations which can trap condensate.
We also analyze equipment sizing, line sizing, insulation adequacy and condition, and trap sizing and suitability.
Once the physical survey has been completed, we prepare a picture-heavy, comprehensive report with recommendations for improvement/s. If subsequently requested, we will perform the detailed engineering and contract management to correct those issues which management wishes to address.
